Did you know that many children are diagnosed with dyslexia and don't outgrow it as adults? With that said, there are many examples of adults who have dyslexia but are still very successful- George W. Bush, Walt Disney, Albert Einstein, Henry Ford, etc.
Well, I'm happy to announce that I am currently working on a project with David Hurford, the Psychology Dept. Chair at Pittsburg State University, to illustrate a book he has written about dyslexia. They also run a center for learning here at Pitt State, so they know the difficulties of trying to help children understand what is wrong with their brain-why they can't read so well.
So far, we have a cover done, but we decided to personalize it even a little further. We want it to really make the child feel like the book can relate to them. We have created both a boy's cover and a girl's cover. (boy's version is shown here.
